Nuit Blanche

The Kingpins 2006 were commissioned by Nicolas Bourriaud and Jerome Sans to make a 24 hour work for Nuit Blanche Paris. The collective was given a turn of the century portable theatre to rework into a performance installation. The Kingpins created an immersive environment titled "The Great Undead" from painted bracken shipped Pere Lachaise, a mobile mirrorball coffin display unit and surrounding set and costumed live band. The performers occupied the area for 24 hours either lying within the coffin and performing hourly drag shows from cut up samples that re-animate new conversations on romantic notions of time and space.
